Chocolate that’s dairy free, paleo friendly, and ridiculously quick and easy to make!

Paleo Dark Chocolate Hearts

With a milestone celebration that needed just that little something more, I decided to try out this recipe for paleo friendly chocolate. I followed it to the letter and landed up with a crumbly mess!! Not one to give up easily, I decided to try again, this time changing the order in which I added the ingredients, and it worked! There are just a few ingredients and everything that you probably already have in your cupboard.

Recipe for Paleo, Dairy Free Chocolate

Yield: 6-8 bite sized chocolates

Prep time: 10 minutes

Time to set: 1 hour

What you need

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/2 cup raw cacao powder (or unsweetened cocoa powder)

1/2 tspn vanilla extract

2-3 tblspns raw honey (or maple syrup, or date paste for REBOOT!)

Pinch of Himalayan fine salt

Optional: Add chopped fruit, nuts, orange rind, cayenne pepper, mint extract – or any of your favourite chocolate flavour combinations.

What you need to do

1. Melt coconut oil in sauce pan.

2. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and honey, whisk together. Whilst whisking, add cacao powder. Add salt and mix well.

3. Add nuts/fruit/flavours or leave it plain! Pour into silicone molds.

4. Put into the fridge for about an hour. Remove from mold, and enjoy!

Tip: These must be stored in the fridge!

They’re dark and decadent, and a real good treat for the odd occasion. Do enjoy!
