Power packed breakfast smoothie bowl to get you off to a great start!
Mornings are, well, mayhem really. Taking some time out to sit down to a bowl of goodness was just I what was needed and instead of just throwing back a smoothie, I decided to make a meal of it. I’ve made a coconut smoothie bowl before, and these really are as limited as your imagination (and available ingredients!).
I wanted something filling, tasty and a bit of a looker – so a smoothie bowl made the most sense. Best part – not an egg in sight because I just couldn’t do it this AM!!
You probably have all of these ingredients (mostly) so go for it. It’s delicious 🙂
Recipe for Cacao-berry Smoothie Bowl
Yield: 2 smoothie bowls
Prep time: 5 minutes
What you need
2 dates, pitted
1/4 cup coconut cream
1 tblspn hemp protein powder
1 tblspn raw cacao powder
2 tblspns sunflower seeds
1/2 cup – 3/4 cup water (start with half a cup and add a touch more if too thick, even for a bowl!)
Pinch of salt
These are optional but here’s what I used:
Drizzle of coconut cream
What you need to do
1. Place all the ingredients in a blender, and blend (apart from the toppings).
2. Pour into bowls, decorate as desired, and done!
It’s quick, simple and perfect for those days when eggs just won’t cut it. Have fun with it, let your creativity flow and enjoy!
